Lets hope Haney doesn't duck Lomachenko and he'll hopefully surprise us and fight him. Its beautiful to watch when fighters are beating opponents who are obviously naturally bigger than themselves.
Ortiz was a tough opponent for Loma to deal with after being out the ring for 11 months and not training until this training camp. Loma did well but certainly wasn't at his best.
Loma is 35 in February, and imo, judging from last night, he needs as much practice and battle-hardening that he can get before taking on Haney - I think another tune-up fight before fighting Haney would probably help him get closer to his best form.
Let them do the fight with Haney whenever he wants it, Haney that is. They both just got thru there tune ups and are as ready as they will ever be, Lomo dont need no more tune ups he needs to fight and get about four more fights in before he gets old in the ring and he is not old yet. Hey Ozzy did you see the fight card from Japan yet ? If not check it out, one of the best cards all year as far as I am concerned. Let me know what you think......I know saying that puts me at a disadvantage but hey that card reminded me of some real wars and yea all four of the fights were wars of one kind or another getting a Mexican and a Japanese fighter in the ring with there skills was excellent. I used to hear Mexican style but Japanese style is real at the morning was long for these fighters....
Hi John - we’ll have to agree to disagree about Loma.
He hadn’t been in the gym between Jan and August and imo it showed against Ortiz.
IMO Loma needs at least another fight to get up to speed - Haney already has quite a size advantage, Loma shouldn’t give him any other advantage.
That said, knowing Loma, he’ll probably go straight into the Haney fight - doesn’t make it the right thing to do though. He made a dumb decision to go into the Lopez fight injured and look what happened there.
Thanks for the heads up about the card from Japan - I’ll see if it’s on YouTube. I think Teraji vs Bam would be a hell of a fight.
Yea there is no right or wrong answere with Lomo v Haney I mean neither of us knows for sure how Lomo is feeling or where his head is at --(so to speak) WL or Draw it will be an excellent fight that really Lomo would win on his worst day in the ring as a professional so there is that to consider also. I hope you get a solid re-run of the Japan fight card really got my attention. Once again no right or wrong on that card as far as fight card of the month or possible year but it will stand out for a long time with me.....Looks to be fights this weekend 175 back in the spotlight...As long as it lasts in any case I will have to look up the fight card and see who else is fighting I saw a post about female whatever not interested in that part of the card good time to streach outside a bit when they come into the ring. I hear Eddie is still campainging to get his boy Benn off the hook, these guys I mean promote all you want but when a fighter breaks from laws of boxing and starts to use chemicals to enhance his chances to win it gets me angry.... We got a good season of fights coming up now if all holds true to the advertising... After this Summer of nothing should be nice. let the fight cards keep rolling in and maybe we can get something solid going on regular like with these fighters today............yes bam would be interesting match up for sure.
Yep - looking forward to the Bivol vs Ramirez fight this weekend which for some reason is taking place in Abu Dhabi. It's on DAZN anyway - not sure who will win, should be a good fight.
Also think the Prograis vs Zepeda fight later in the month will be a good one, I think Regis will win that one.
Estrada vs Chocolatito 3 next month is also a good-un, certainly better than Fury vs Chisora which is on the same day/night.
Yes, Hearn and Benn seem to be determined to look really, really bad. I don't know if you've heard about Benn failing another drug test back in July for the same drug Clomifene but it wasn't made public. I think this business of regarding drug test results as private medical information has to be changed - there's a lot more information to come out about this case. I only hope it all comes out eventually. UKAD is investigating Benn and his dodgy doctor, Usman Sajjad, and also Tyson Fury because this doctor has been working with Fury for over a year. These kinds of investigations take ages though so I'm not expecting to hear anything about it for quite a while.
I got Bivol being the winner over Ramirez this weekend. Start time 10;30 AM is what I hear n possible 730 start time for the undercards, reminds me of the night of the flies from Tuesday Morning. you are in the U. K. correct ? Prograis goes for the money all the time which is fine but it always back fires on him started in the super series he got angry over money and he has made decisions that reflect his concern for the payday just saying just an observation is all but an honest one at that. Anyhow Bivol a much more polished fighter and more speed and accurate punches. Prgrais is not seen too much in my house due to inactivity and the money thing. Estrada v Choco what a fight it might just be........let the imagination roam. yes those two fights could be very nice indeed. Now I read that Tyson v Chis is going to be on ESPN ? What I heard.
Hear is you body.....hear is your body on drugs.....here goes your life down the toilet any questions ??????? The fighter as sad as it is --I see how it happens still sickens me, but the promoters those scum bag low life phoney no good SOBitchs never get what they deserve. This in not popular but neither am I so here goes.... I never liked Fury he is about as unoriginal as his name he got more breaks then a windshield in a hail storm. And laughs all the way to the bank and a lot of talk about his drug use not talking so called cocain that was a smoke screen and a way to make more money on a come back. What a clown. I hope he gets cut up and brought down in the ring. Investigation what investagation. Everyone can be bought in boxing if they can not be bought thier reputation will be ruined in the media. If that dont work they will be threathened , and hurassed until they fade away . Too much money too much ego too many cover ups to ever get to the truth. First thing the lawyers do is tell them to slow the roll, let people forget about the drug scandle, then they throw every excuse, every pc of non evidence at the media and then they pay off the people they have to pay off.
Yes - the drug situation in boxing is a mess and very depressing. I hope Hearn gets what he deserves but as you say nothing ever seems to happen to the likes of him - too much underhand shenanigans.
I also agree about Tyson Fury - as far as I'm concerned he's a drug cheat, he has no integrity and constantly lies and spreads misinformation that is lapped up by Fury fanboys who think he can do no wrong. He does have good lawyers though as you point out John. IMO the 3 strikes against him with UKAD, and this current business of working for over a year with this dodgy doctor, suggests he's unlikely to have been clean when he fought Wilder 3 times in the US - the small amount of VADA testing that took place in these fights was only over the last month before the fight, a period when the fighters knew they'd be tested - this kind of testing is pointless.
The worst thing about the Fury situation imo is the way many UK boxing fans don't care that Fury's a cheat and has no integrity, they repeatedly make excuses for him and often have no idea about the details of Fury's history with UKAD. Nothing will happen to Fury with the current UKAD investigation of course, but many Fury fanboys wouldn't care even if Fury was found to have doped again.
Personally I'm very down on boxing these days, not just the drug situation, there's so many other things wrong with the sport - it's hard not to view everything that happens with scepticism and suspicion. From dodgy referees and judges, the ridiculous way fighters get ranked, dodgy dealing and doping as well as the total lack of proper independent governance etc., makes the current climate no better than the 40s & 50s when the mob had a hold on the sport.
No dont blame yourself, there are a lot of us out here that get driven crazy by the garbage that gets thrown at us all day and week long. Fight Fans are the most abused people in sport. And bc of that they keep abusing us, and telling stories like they did with Crawford what a shit show of a play on the fans. And Crawford and friends try and play it like they are giving the fans something special, truth be told give me some good undercards and some decent up and coming fighters in the ring giving it there all and I will not even miss him or speedy racer spencer........ keep it another fighter will come along and they know it, that is why he and others do that self promoting junk. Let me know how you see the fight cards this weekend. Two cards on in one day. yeee hawwwww
Everybody on that card has a lot going for them, that was one hell of a card. Reminded me of Heno - Soto a few years ago, those who do not follow the lighter weight classes are missing out on some great fights and fighters. Japan is the new Mexican fighter noticed that a while back.
yes I do believe it will be PPV that is why it has not happened yet the powers in boxing do not know if it will do well but all the other junk they thrown out is considered good bussiness huh ? Anyhow if ESPN runs in without a fee they will be doing boxing a favor and big favor, it would make some more fight fans in one night. Anyhow..........
Lets hope Haney doesn't duck Lomachenko and he'll hopefully surprise us and fight him. Its beautiful to watch when fighters are beating opponents who are obviously naturally bigger than themselves.
