I’ve been waiting for this to happen so I can drop my Sky Sports subscription.
I think, and hope, the saving of about £32 per month (includes the HD supplement) will be a lot more than whatever DAZN decide to charge in the UK - currently only £1.99 per month but will probably increase soon.
Let's hope it all works out great, particularly for fans, who ultimately pay all these bills. Let's check back in a year, when pricing, dazn PPV reality, the broadcast team, new markets, etc are all confirmed. Hearn's IFL interview posed a lot of questions. Unfortunately the interviewer [who in fairness gets tremendous access, although it's hard to figure why] either didn't realize or declined to ask.
DAZN beats PPV by a mile. A bargain at twice the price (though I'm not asking to pay more). Great news for subscribers. It will drive UK traffic to the site, improving the chances that the model succeeds. Great news for fight fans. The real test is whether other promotors will or can follow suit.
If you're in the UK [and pretty much anywhere else outside US], don't be surprised to be paying a fair bit more than twice the price this time next year.
So , how much will Dazn subscription go up ?
2 mllion
