Looks like Showtime is going to keep putting fights out there for the next several weeks good for them better for boxing fans. Line them up n mow them down, keep the match ups tight and the follow up fights happening and it works out, most fight fans can easily be appeased just match them up solid dont ask for PPV dollars for something that is not in demand and keep the circus out of the ring is all we ask for. The circus comes to town tonight i belive. Shit show delight. Baadddd BAAAA bunch of sheep is all i can say.

Strange juxtaposition between two fights a week apart. Wood’s corner saw him as vulnerable to serious damage after a stunning knockdown - and he was - vs yesterday when Ponce’s corner said their man could not continue *after* the round. I for one have more questions about the stoppage yesterday. Ponce looked like he could have continued and it makes me think he actually made the decision. Barring the announcement of some type of injury, I’ll be left with that impression

Good fight! Too bad it ended so abruptly and with Ponce looking like he was fine, but better early than too late, I suppose.

Can’t imagine PBC would make the Prograis fight, as they don’t go “across the street” for fights that aren’t mandated or big money. Matias has great power, and I’d love to see the fight, but Regis would likely wreck him. I expect Matias will have to make another mandatory (per IBF rules) or for PBC to feed him poor Elvis or some other mid level 140 guy in their stable.

As for James, all the talk of “former world champion” and getting his belt back is ridiculous. That was a WBA made up special that should never have existed, and we’ve had a real WBA champion in the division all along. That fabricated bs shouldn’t be a part of your recaps, Dan. It’s silly to give air to it.

Man it did end in a odd sorta way didnt it ? Maybe he was hurt in some other way but if not he gave up and went along with the corner to save it for another day, which is not how i grew up with boxing and the fight game. Did they say "no mas" or do i remeber it wrong ? Good main like was mentioned but finish is suspect leaves some real questions on the side of Ponce who was really taking more then he gave after round number one. Shit show on James v Palmetta someone should have known better i agree, musta been some back room boxing deal or i own u type of thing. Once again fighters who save themselves for another day never amount to much in the end. Bad habbit to get into hard to get out of.
