Interesting to see that Nery KOd the fighter David Carmona relatively recently in late 2022. Outside of Donaire, that’s the last fighter to go the distance with inoue way back in 2016 at super flyweight. From what I understand, inoue broke his hand in that fight but still won an easy UD. 8 years since this man has had a fight without a knockdown, crazy.
I don’t think it means anything for their fight, just thought it was interesting and hadn’t seen it mentioned yet. Only other mutual opponent between them in Payano.
Inoue is the heavy favorite, and rightly so. But I can't shake the shear amount of Big Punches that Marlon Tápales flat out ate versus Inoue. Before finally being KO'd late in the fight. Also, was Stephen Fulton another PBC mirage? No matter how big the puncher. Rarely do they never find a ceiling on their power. Tito Trinidad being an excellent example. I'm just hoping for competitive fight. All respect to Inoue and Nery, regardless.
I did not know until I listen to the FFU podcast that this is only the second boxing match to take place in that special arena. The way Boxing has been lately, a humongous upset would not necessarily be out of the realm of possibility. However, the monster should get this done.
Thanks for the approx ring walk times Dan. Really solid card top to bottom.
Thank you for keeping UK fans informed about the broadcaster. Appreciated.
