Spence makes decision on Crawford rematch; Rocha-Santillan details; a new WBA heavyweight mess; TR signs promising heavyweight; Quick hits; Show and tell
Bad call by Spence I agree with you Stuart he should of had a couple fights before going again with Crawford the fight will be lucky to get half of what the gate and ppv got in the first if that I don’t know if I will pay for it
Not surprised Spence elected for an immediate rematch but his career may have been better served to get a couple more wins under his belt, or a couple wins and another belt under his belt before going back into the lions den. My only disappointment is that it hampers Crawford’s chances of getting the mega fight with Canelo.
Great write up. Dan is definitely one of the best writers in the sport.
Can't believe Bruno - McCall was 28 years ago today. I was there - a great night - along with maybe 35k people at the original Wembley Stadium. Lasers that were state of the art at the time [how things have moved on...], Nigel Benn banging on the ring apron, everyone holding their breath as the rounds ticked by, willing big Frank to finally land that elusive green belt.
As for this weekend: plenty of intrigue for Smith - Eubank. I picked Smith to win on points in the first fight. This time my pick remains, although I'm not as confident. So many variables. Let's hope they all play out and we get a great fight. Good card too, certainly by recent standards. Heffron - Cullen could be fight of the night.
