Christopher Diaz is my fucking hero. He gave all he had! It was very emotional to see him stopped in the waning seconds of the fight. I didn’t think he had much of a chance, but he had absolutely zero quit in him. That fight was everything that is noble and good about boxing. It transcended the sport. The stoppage was from his corner and it came at the right time, even with less than 20 seconds left. Awesome fight.
Two shoulder surgeries would be a problem for any boxer never mind one fighting in a division heavier than his natural weight.
I think the Nakatani fight has been made to give Loma's shoulder a real test.
If the shoulder passes with flying colours then I expect them to try for a rematch with Lopez - any problems he may drop to 130lbs or, dare I say, retire.
Re Froch/Taylor - and Froch went on to have a stellar career. One of the hardest men I have ever seen in the ring. His destruction of Luciano Bute was something to behold.
