Credit to Sandor Martin for stepping in to fight Teofimo Lopez with only 3 weeks to go until the fight.

This gives Martin only 3 weeks to relocate to New York from Spain, deal with any jet lag effects, and train for the fight. I don't think Martin had been training for a fight and so it's a big ask to expect him to be on top form. The situation must give Lopez a big advantage and make him the favourite to win.

Loaded, Thanks. Anyone still complaining about Streaming Services like DAZN & ESPN+ being involved with Boxing. Due to their $100 plus annual subscription. Should keep in mind, paying $60 for a mid level fight card like Prograis/Zepeda or Bud/Avensyan will become a necessary commonplace if not for them. BTW, I’ve never understood the whole “Regis is the 140 Bogeyman” narrative. Prograis lost a competitive, but clear decision to Josh Taylor. And has been just floating around for years ever since. Jose Zepeda is the real Spoiler at 140 lbs. Zepeda for the Win this Saturday.

Agreed - it looks like the PPV model is becoming the norm which isn't good news for boxing fans. Fans cannot be expected to keep finding the money just to watch run of the mill boxing match-ups. I suppose the only hope we have is if the number of buys for these kind of PPVs keeps on falling then the promoters/ TV companies might be forced into changing things.

Agree about Prograis too. Not having a world title fight since the Taylor fight is totally Prograis' own fault.

He wanted Top Rank to guarantee an immediate rematch with Taylor if he signed with them, they said they wouldn't guarantee an immediate rematch. So Prograis threw his toys out of the pram and signed with PBC. Over the past 3 years he's had 3 uncompetitive fights, one of them even on a Thriller card.

If Prograis had been smart and signed with Top Rank he could have challenged Ramirez for his WBC & WBO titles and if he won then faced Taylor again for the undisputed title.

In a way he doesn't deserve this chance to lift the (vacant) WBC title based on what he's done over the past 3 years.
