Great updates. Even though Tito was not in his prime, it would have made no difference. Winky was so good. Thanks for all of the great info. I am SHOnuff ready for tomorrow's card.
That was a tight fight I will agree on that Roman showed a lot, he could have taken a lesser opponent was the word but he said no way make a competative fight for him and the fans I respect that. Hope he does well tonight "well" means a lot of things in the ring to me.
Interesting to see what they make. Has that always been available to the public and I wonder if it is accurate and to what degree, not disagreeing just thought most promoters did not like to put that info out there to the public. Be nice to look at past fights and what guys got paid if that is possible. Some of the fights that turned out to be great by surprise to all EH
Holyfield's a true legend who gave us some of the most exciting fights/occasions we've seen.
But he made his debut just after the LA Summer Olympics - 37 years ago. He's almost 59 years old. If he wants to move around in an exhibition for 6 rounds, 2 minute rounds are fine. As are 16 oz gloves and chunky headguards.
Similar with De La Hoya - great champion with a true fighting heart. But he has addiction issues - the kind of which his body won't forgive him for at his age. So again, a true exhibition is fine.
If these older guys actually fight - 3 mins rounds, small gloves, no headguards - one of them is going to get hurt at some point. As an older guy myself, I don't want to see that.
Subject of Olympics: Only 4 boxers in US Men's Team - what's that about?!
On a lighter note: Fundora vs Garcia should be entertaining.
Boxing is dead in the Olympics. 70's are gone. I met a guy who was a sparring partner for both Holyfield and Tyson. Both in their primes. He said Tyson was so strong it was not even funny. His grazes hurt. But he said Holyfield was extremely intelligent in the ring.
As for heavy weights today. Fury, Wilder, Tyson, and Joshua all had less than 40 amateur fights each. It only seems Tyson and Fury have faired well. But a prime Tyson vs Fury. Forget about it. Or Fury against Smokin Joe, Ali, Foreman. The list goes on. Your best have 100 plus amateur fights. Some have 350 plus, including Vasil and GGG. Canelo over a 100. Bottom line, Joshua is toast against Fury. You cannot sell what you do not have. As for Wilder, done.
Yes he sure did, he has got the power now lets get some challenges that make for an interesting fight(s) AKA competitive fights. Set them up see what he can do as he takes chances.
Roman is going to be a great fight could steal the card Sat Nite, he did not have to take his last fight for a few reasons but he showed and showed well it was close again for reasons. I am looking towards this fight the Heartbreaker has got to really break somebody up in the ring in this bout. I do not think he has it but I like being proven wrong when it comes to fights. I know the kid can take punishment but I do not now if he is going to be able to deliver it.

I thought Roman beat Akhmadaliev.

Kool
Good fight that poses dangers but Roman should come thru this.
Some great upcoming bouts, i thought Roman drew with Akhmadaliev but it was close so i haven't a problem with the scores.

I'm impressed with the ambition shown by Joshua Buatsi in going out to the US to work with Virgil Hunter.
His opponent tonight, Dos Santos, may look the part and appears to be able to punch however almost all the opponents he's beaten had losing records.
Josh should be able to show some of the stuff he's been working on with Hunter with this level of opponent.
