A prime Larry Holmes or Tyson would beat all these guys. And of course several more from my 70s 80s era. But to me the best of the lot
currently today is Ruiz. Young, quick, power ok, but most of the current heavies today do not have not much of an amateur record. So lack of experience. Prime Riddick or Holyfield. And like I said a few others. Ruiz wins in 3 or less.
The Arreola fight may make sense financially for Ruiz so I can understand him taking that fight. However, if he wants to prove himself he's gonna have to take on the better, and younger, PBC heavyweights like Kownacki, Helenius, Sanchez, Martin & Wilder.
Well you are right he was born in the United States but he and I would call ourselves Mexicans (I was born in Mexico) but regardless of being born in the United States we are still Mexicans no need for the second name. It has to do with the entire history between Mexico and the United States.
Mr. Bravo, are you Mexican or of Mexican descent by any chance? If not may I ask you what is your nationality?
I grew up and my first friend was mexican. I hung with him and his family. To this day my 3 best friends are Mexican. We all respect our heritages. I grew up in a place called Oakland. I grew up with many different heritages. I learned to respect them all. Our sport in common has always been boxing.
Yes Sunny won the fight and the Belt but I could not enjoy the fight, not taking anything away from Sunny but you got to mix it up or have and show something besides movement to keep me interested in the fight any fight. It will be interesting to see who he gets in the ring with next (or not.) I guess there are people who enjoy that style of match up but I knew going in that if he won it would not be an interesting fight. That means I was pulling for him to get caught and more then once and with a solid ...........Flies I enjoy watching Martinez Accosta Soto when he moves up and even Heno if and when he moves up.
Yes Ozzy I agree on the skill set just am stuck in some of the ways I view a fight. I believe it was Soto vs. Heno from 2019 that was a good intro into there styles and why I see them as having movement, boxing skill but that raw power edge that often makes a fight catch my attention. There are a few recent fights that show them well. Martinez when he got that NC ? that was his intro into the getting attention. That was Edwards brother or am I wrong ? Late body shot caused the comotion.
Yes John that was Sunny's brother Charlie, who has a pretty similar style.
I'm convinced Martinez would have won that fight with Charlie if not for the very late body shot while Charlie had took a knee.
I don't know why the ref counted Charlie out - all he had to do was give him a chance to recover and the fight could have continued.
The ref claims that he didn't realise Charlie had took a knee - in that case he needs to get his eyes checked. It was a total mess that Sulaiman had to address immediately as he was ringside.
Thanks for the Soto & Heno info it's always good to find really good fighters I'm not aware of.

Ruiz in THIS shape beats them all.

True. But this is just a tune up.
My friend, do you know what is Andy Ruiz's ethnic background?
Are you kidding
No

62 and still learning
How in the world is this a PPV fight?
Good question. But in all honesty, the match up is interesting, and the undercard is superb. So it's worth 49.95.
Well as usual I was completely wrong in predicting the Edwards vs Mthalane fight.
Congrats to Sunny for winning the world title his mother must be so proud that both her lads have become world champs.

I agree I'm not a great fan of Edwards' style however I do appreciate the skills he has.
I thought Mthalane would eventually get to him and take him out.
I think WBC champ Martinez would stop Edwards as he has the speed needed to close the gap and get to Edwards.
I'm not familiar with the two light flyweight boxers you mention but thank you for drawing my attention to them - I'll try to find them on YouTube.

Ozzy, I don't know if I've written to you before, but do you know what is the nationality of Martinez? Thanks.
