The argument that this fight and other celebrity fights are somehow hurting the sport is absolute nonsense. Sure, it's not my cup of tea, but there is clearly a market for it. It takes nothing away from what Floyd has accomplished in his career, and he has earned the right to entertain us however he chooses. We all knew that Paul had no chance, but it was still great to see Floyd in the ring. If anything, the presentation of these events needs to be worked on because it was a bit of a train wreck at times, but there were still entertaining moments.

The Mayweather-Paul playdate could have been held in a bouncy house for all I care, but there were two legit fights on that card and for the Hurd Arias fight the ring was in terrible condition. Could they not have attempted to dry the ring, or at least the giant plastic logo, between rounds? I know the almighty advertising dollar rules the ring, but it’s unconscionable that the logos in boxing rings are slapped down with no thought to how they are going to effect the traction in the ring. It’s always been an issue and last night the center of the ring was like an ice rink. It’s always been an issue.
