We recapped and discussed the two most notable cards on Saturday: the PBC/Showtime event headlined by Frank Martin’s hard-fought decision over Artem Harutyunyan in a WBC lightweight eliminator and the Matchroom Boxing/DAZN show topped by Alycia Baumgardner’s win over Christina Linardatou to avenge her only loss and retain the undisputed women’s junior lightweight title. There is also my interview with unified junior featherweight titlist Stephen Fulton, who is now in Japan set to defend against Naoya Inoue on July 25. We also went over key news of the week and discussed two major fights on their anniversaries.
Here’s what we discussed on this episode (in order):

Recap of Martin’s very close victory over Harutyunyan and what it means for both.
We also discussed both Showtime undercard fights, which both ended by seventh-round knockouts: junior welterweight Elvis Rodriguez against former titlist Viktor Postol and welterweight prospect Freudis Rojas versus Diego Sanchez.
Recap of Baumgardner’s win over Linardatou in a Detroit homecoming fight and the big fights she and her promoter, Eddie Hearn, have their eye on in the near future.
Thoughts on the undercard, including the pro debut performance of lightweight Andy Cruz, the heralded 2020 Cuban Olympic gold medalist, who shut out veteran former contender Juan Carlos Burgos, and heavyweight Jermaine Franklin’s decision over Isaac Munoz to shake off back-to-back losses to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
My interview with Fulton during which we discussed various topics, including the ease with which the Inoue fight was made, his thoughts on going overseas to fight for the first time and why he was so insistent on making this fight.
Gervonta “Tank” Davis being released from jail after serving 44 days and what might be next for the pay-per-view star.
Tim Tszyu moving on now that his mandatory fight with Jermell Charlo won’t happen any time soon, if ever.
The addition of a heavyweight fight between IBF mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic and Demsey McKean to the Joshua-Whyte II undercard.
Ringside memories on the 18th anniversary of Jermain Taylor’s upset of Bernard Hopkins to win the undisputed middleweight title and become the second-ever four-belt undisputed king after Hopkins had become the first.
Memories on the 36th anniversary of Mike McCallum’s memorable one-punch KO of fellow Hall of Famer Donald Curry to retain his junior middleweight title.
Please give it a listen! Also: rate, review, subscribe and enjoy!
