Well the fights were not that exciting even the fight with Hooker - Cobbs did not really excite bc the future for Cobbs is limited as is it for Hooker after that performence if you want to call it a performance no excuses for the way he behaved in the ring there may be some reasons I do not care was a bad look for no good reason, and Cobbs is limited but I give him a lot of credit for showing up in shape and with a game plan that he followed and got the win and shown fight in his blood. When Dan said this could be a close fight on Friday I thought he was being stupid but he was right and I was wrong.
The Jake Paul deal come on Dan don't need to say much about it even if you don't like JP and I sure as hell do not like the guy even if he was a fighter and a good one and he is neither nor any good for the fight game as a whole. There is a lot of more real "stuff" going on in Boxing that needs talking about JP and the like are just a bad distraction and a big waste of time. I got a topic to suggest ....right who cares what the average fan is concerned bout in Boxing. I get it.
So they did it-- they starved the fans of good fights all summer and gave us predictable or going no where bouts to allow the Promoters and Platforms to push out there PPV fights now. Oh yea and raise the price of ESPN PLUS and DAZN anybody want to talk about that ? Is every podcast and internet boxing writing going to dig into how the product the substance of the sport is sinking and the price is going up. Try that in any other sport see what happens but in boxing it is just fine ignore it screw the fans right man.
Not that Boxing is done it is the greatest competition in the sports world but I heard a phrase "fight Fans Unite" if you want unity you got to talk about what is good and what is bad in the sport of boxing dont make it personal just what is good for boxing and I am talking about the fight fan as much as anyone or any part of boxing..................The driver in Boxing is the fight fan but try and get the average fan to see it and act on it ? Not easy thing to do best sports fans and most mistreated fans are fight fans.....
