Such a great point about Oscar's career. People can say what they want about Oscar. Sure he can be corny at times and he's made a lot of mistakes outside of the ring, but his boxing resume is very impressive. He fought almost everyone in his era, save for Vernon Forest, but that was more due to timing.
Boxers, not all have become a fickled bunch. One wants to be Champ of what I’m not sure if it’s in Boxing or Social Media, yes I’m talking about Ryan Garcia! While others get stripped of their Belt/Belts due to inactivity or refusal to fight top tier fighters, it’s all getting a bit boring! The grand old days when fighters like Hagler,Hearns ,Ray Leonard, Duran and many others would fight in between Title Fights, we can’t get what this generation calls [The Greatest] to fight maybe just maybe once a year!! But hey who am I to say anything, I coached many fighters who won their fair share of Prominent National Amateur Titles, did that for 25+ years, now I have Cancer and I’m on Hospice so I’m done coaching so I watch and critique! That is all #PeaceAndLove…Jesus
Then announces a fight with Ngannu and wants to be a fake wrestler.. who cares. People want to see him fight AJ and Usyk. Not retiring but going for more money easy silly fights who cares but silly 12 year olds.
White was 100% done and was unable to keep upright for the three steps the ref was looking for. That push was a little send off to the land of nod. Had Fury not pushed him back. I believe he would’ve found the canvas rushing to meet him anyway. There is no alternate universe where DW recovers from that “peach” of an uppercut.
Love that anecdote about the prediction of Lewis/Rahman I. Do you agree that the reason Lewis retired after Lewis/V. Klitschko was that he'd lost his motivation for the kind of challenge that Vitali brought (rather than rematch Vitali)?
Tim Tszyu has good potential, but IMO, he is not ready to face Charlo or Castano yet. He needs to fight a few more US-based fighters before facing either of them.
Dan, curious: do you know if Ali's family has given Rivera permission to use the Ali name brand on his trunks? He DOES physically resembles Ali and sets up like young Ali (notably without the side-to-side movement), so I see it, but am surprised he's so clearly trading on Ali's name for notoriety if he doesn't have permission. If you know...or can find out. I read your summary today hoping you'd mention it.
Hey Dan I appreciate you mentioning those great fights like Gatti..when I get home I look forward to finding them on Youtube and watching..gets me through the week til the weekend fights come on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one against the Russian Bivol fight..15 percent of that income goes to Putin's GOV..if not all seized eventually. I love support DAZN..hope that Sour fight gets SCRUBBED and they move on.

Joshua Wilder would still be a great fight and big time drama show I would think.
