Conor Benn seems like a realistic opponent for Ortiz in 2022. Both guys recently fought legit competition, so I guess I’m okay with Ortiz taking what seems to be a bit of a gimme next, but Ortiz vs. Benn would be boffo on DAZN next year.
This will be the 5th opponent since Munguia refused to take the mandatory fight against Andrade because he wanted "a couple of warm-ups" - it seems he wants none of Andrade and continues to fight limited opposition.
Speaking of limited opposition - Michael McKinson won't last too long against Ortiz Jr and when Ryan Garcia gets back into full action he will hopefully increase the number of world level lightweights on his resume from the current total of 1.
As a DAZN subscriber, I really hope GBP and DAZN continue their partnership. I don’t always know who’s on the undercard. But in the tradition of the late great Don Chargin, I do expect the GBP/DAZN cards to be entertaining. Shout Out to GBP Matchmaker, Roberto Diaz!
Wish Ortiz was facing a better opponent and sooner, but it's what in expect. Happy holidays Dan
Top guys not in a hurry to fight Ortiz
