Source: Haney, Garcia working with Alalshikh on deal for rematch
Each fighter would have spring bout, then the sequel in the fall, but drug testing issues and ongoing lawsuit are impediments

Rivals Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney, who both met separately with Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh this past weekend in London around The Ring magazine 2024 awards dinner, have the outline for a two-fight deal in place with him that would culminate in a rematch, a source with knowledge of the paperwork told Fight Freaks Unite.
Both fighter camps have received non-binding deal memos outlining the parameters of the agreement that would see them have separate bouts in the spring in the United States and — if they both emerge with victories — fight each other at a contract weight of 147 pounds in October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during the Riyadh Season festival, the source said.
The deal is not signed and there remain open issues pertaining to drug testing and an ongoing lawsuit Haney filed against Garcia, the source said.
