It serves them right. People who subscribe to DAZN we’re promised no pay per views. They get my money every month for the subscription, they won’t be getting anything for PPV fights.
There is also the effect of the fact that I can now just go to my local theater and buy a ticket and watch the flight for much less money. They kind of need to figure out what they’re doing.
This fight was over marinated by the diva cinnamon kid, it was must see 4 YEARS ago. Golovkin is 1st ballot HOF, hoping he takes an interesting but not dangerous farewell fight and bows out. Helluva fighter in his prime. 🥊

I am sure that everyone involved on the money side of third fight did well very well and even if they didn't they will make up for it by picking the pockets of those of us who still use PPV APPs or some other form and righting there ledgers. Now what those as in DAZN are complaining about it that it the fight did not do as well as they hoped for......And hope is like smoke we all know how quickly smoke can disappear -- same with hoping that a fight will sell well. Or maybe it is just that people are tiered of having to pay for fights that are not worth PPV prices - imagine that people getting tiered of paying more for less, maybe people are not interested in constantly being told this fight can not be missed as they reach into your pocket, I mean no one minds spending money but getting ripped never feels good.
And as far as promoting, promoting is not just putting up posters or preaching to the choir it envolves a lot of effort and time and really caring about those who love the sport of boxing.... It means putting up good and decent fights that attract people naturally to the fight card and ON A REGULAR BASIS hear that boxing promoters on a regular basis. It dont mean going up the CANADA and showing some third rate club fights as a promo for the fight on DAMZONE got it act like you care about the fight game more then you do about the numbers of PPV buys. How about some respect to the fight fans who drive boxing anyhow got it ? The fight fan drives boxing not the other way around We that talk up fights follow the boxing lives of those in the ring. Fight fans know when something is not what it is being sold as......and too many fights are callled PPV EVENTS when they are not even close to anything but a money grab......
When considered objectively, surely there can't be too many surprises. It would be really interesting to see the various business cases that must have been created for Alvarez. I wonder how much money they've spent on him, gross? Regardless of any deemed halo effect, they're well underwater.
I think GGG will retire rather than take a serious pay cut. Neither of his PPVs as the “A” Side years ago, were much business. Top Rank already turned up their nose at signing him as a free agent, prior to his debacle of a contract with DAZN. PBC will put anything on PPV obviously. But will the guarantees be enough? Will Matchroom or GBP even be allowed to make him an offer at this point by DAZN? I think the Munguia fight makes the most sense, if any. Time will tell.
DAZN does not hype very well in North America. It seemed like if you weren’t a boxing fan you didn’t really know it was happening. And that may not be a bad number considering inflation right now.
Hype could only do so much since GGG's age could not be reduced. GGG's last bout did not help. A guy in his prime who fought a guy at least 8 years past his and who lacks charisma could not rationally be expected to be box office knockout!
Unless he could find $ elsewhere, Hearn lost bigly on the Canelo's deal.
Also article says DAZN lost money. Wouldnt Hearn be the one who lost money since he was the promoter and made the large purse guarantees. DAZN is just the broadcaster I thought

Hearn did so little to promote this! I did not see any ads until the week of the fight!
