Thanks for the update Dan!

Too bad...

Rust breaks all. The utter lack of activity is endemic to PBC. Danny Garcia for example,(after 2 year layoff) got a “Tune Up” fight all the way back in July. Danny was talking about moving up to 154 and taking on Jermell. I never believed that in the first place. But now Danny’s likely gonna want another trip to Pep Boys Championship (PBC) for his annual maintenance and easy payday check. If and when he fights again. SMH. Stephen Espinoza is either a Simp or in cahoots with Uncle Al to fleece Showtime and its subscribers. Tim Tszyu and his team made a huge mistake trying to do business with these guys.

Will the IBF strip Charlo and allow the next ranked fighters to fight for the title like they did when Joe Cordina broke his hand in very similar circumstances?

Of course not Charlo is a Haymon fighter.

Very different situation. Cordina has used a medical exemption already. Charlo has not. That’s just factual.

Aye - true enough I forgot about his first exemption however I very much doubt that Charlo would be treated the same as Joe anyway as boxing simply doesn't treat fighters equally and that's just as factual.

The IBF will follow its rules to a tee.

All sanctioning bodies follow their rules until they don't suit and then they simply change them. That's why pro boxing, and now amateur boxing, has the worst governance in the whole of sport.

It will be interesting to see who Tsy fights in his next match up and how long that takes to happen. Tsy has to stay busy at least I hope he does dont have that much experience to lay low.

Agreed - you never know maybe having extra time to prepare for Charlo is a blessing in disguise.

It could be a blessing or a curse or at least a missed opportunity....That could happen if he dont test himself with someone who will challenge his skills and allow him to develop while waiting for the fight to happen. If his team stears him towards a easy touch then it could back fire. Be it in no progress hell even a soft touch can get you cut with a head butt flying elbow lots of things. As much as I buy into the hype of this match up I know Tsy is not who his father was at least not yet. Be a lot of talk about fantasy match ups and fights we would like to see or some other promoter talk being there are not many fights happening right now. So the talk turns to stuff written that is just a way to get people disagreeing with each other. Back to the music.............

Yes that's a good point about injury possibilities. It's difficult to know what to do for the best if you're on Tim's team trying to advise him.

That said, the very fact that Tim and his team wanted to fight Charlo without any further "learning" fights suggests that they think Tim doesn't need to improve to beat Charlo.

Which probably means that they'll be simply weighing up whether to risk the possibility of being injured in a relatively easy stay busy fight.

Whatever they decide, if Tim fights Charlo at his current level, I strongly fancy Charlo to win.

Yes most people are picking Charlo to win the fight -- now with the busted hand and the recovery that adds several factors one is that of his recovery time-- two his complete recovery and the amount of time and how well it heals and three the space of time and how he fights and who he fights before Tsy could be a factor in the eventual show down. The fight will grab some eyes and not just fight freaks, there is a name and a story to tell... I guess it is just wait and get the New Years Eve fight out of Japan on NYDay on youtube ///dont look like any one is going to run it on there app ESPN++++ might do it but not looking like it will happen. Dan would say if it was going to show up on his old stomping grounds over there on the pen.

Agreed - it’s an interesting matchup and too many variables to say anything about who will win with anywhere near certainty - I simply don’t know enough about Tim at top level and so I assume Charlo will be able to win - but as you say there’s plenty of questions now that he’s injured.

Fights from Japan are hardly ever shown in the UK - the only one ever shown was the WBSS final between Inoue and Donaire. So I already know that I’ll have to catch up on the Ioka vs Franco fight on YouTube. Should be a hell of a fight - wish it was on DAZN.
