They should create a gimmick belt for this one too. WBC loves to do it and Saudis got in on it too. Usyk the undefeated undisputed champ vacated and a guy he knocked out is fighting a guy he beat twice and nearly had out on his feet for the vacant belt.
Ironically since they got caught years ago taking bribes to give promoters fighters better rankings, arguably the IBF has been the better of the 4 major sanctioning bodies. Re-doing controversial fights, having just one champion at each weight which speaks volumes on just how crap the other 3 bodies are how all 4 bodies are bad for the sport.
I do feel for Usyk. He has taken the shorter edge of the wedge, faced the best and won every fight at heavyweight, he is a credit to the sport. AJ has had a few warm up fights and , beat a UFC fighter but, his alliance with the Arabs and commercial appeal seem more attractive to the IBF. He may be able to brag he is a 3 time world champion soon and no doubt Eddie will be even more irritating than usual but the reality is he was one of the 4 best boxers in his era, he never faced Fury, he never faced Wilder and he lost twice to Usyk . He is more deserving of a Businessman of the Year Award than a place in the HoF. This should be an entertaining match up but not a title fight.

I do like the AJ-DD fight, even if that belt will mean as much to me as the one keeping my jeans snug around my waist. So at least there's a real fight to come out of this, and no William Scull bullshit
