I don't know why it's taken so long for the US government to come to this conclusion as the evidence against Daniel Kinahan and his outfit has been around for years and has been building year on year.
It's true that Sandra Vaughan claimed that Daniel Kinahan had nothing to do with MTK Global anymore but TV journalist Darragh MacIntyre's BBC documentary "Boxing and the Mob" in 2021 showed that this was almost certainly not the case. In fact it seems that Kinahan is the power behind the whole organisation.
All this makes me wonder how boxers like Matthew Macklin, Tyson Fury, Billy Joe Saunders etc., and promoters such as Frank Warren and Bob Arum ever thought that dealing with these kinds of people was okay - imo it shows that they're also crooks with no moral compass and no integrity.
For example, Frank Warren has now said he won't work with Daniel Kinahan after the US government's announcement however he already knew that Kinahan and his fellow gangsters were wanted men for various crimes in Europe, including murder and drug trafficking, and that to stay out of jail is why they had to live in Dubai - yet he was prepared to just turn a blind (fish) eye to their crimes and work with them. The old saying "A man is known by the company he keeps" has never been more apt - similarly "Boxing is the dirtiest sport on the planet".
