Damn, hate to see it. But I've learned over the years there's more that one way to avoid a fight. Ortiz at 147 was always a nonstarter so if Boots wasn't ready for 154 then him and Hearn were just wasting everyone's time.

For this misstep to make sense, though, Boots BETTER get a unification bout NEXT. Norman is hurt. Barrios is the most vulnerable so his phone always rings with multiple options. It's Stanionis of bust.

I’m a Pennsylvania guy and love Boots, but he’s not helping himself here. Eddie put in two nice shows here with crappy opponents and put pretty good weight behind the promotions. I can’t see him putting up with more of this though.

Boots is suggesting there is more to the story. Claiming to be unaware they were this far down the road on negotiations.

Hey Dan, could the disconnect here be coming from Eddie not being on the same page as Boots or is this from his management side?

Team Boots knew what they were doing with demanding a 147 weight limit, last minute. They’ve been so smooth, maneuvering his career to this point. Eddie Hearn’s been sold a bill of goods, with both Boots and Shakur. He just doesn’t realize it yet.

Feels like this can’t be put on anyone but Boots. Guy is my favorite fighter but I’ll be damned if he isn’t making that difficult at the moment.

What a shame! That would’ve been such a good fight.

What a weak way to get out of fight boots didn’t think he could win the fight with Ortiz so he made an excuse with the weight so he could get out of it
