Dan is a true journalist. He doesn’t write about his personal beliefs but instead news and info on upcoming shows, fighters and yes, at times, drama. True journalists do exactly that. There are only a handful left, if that. I applaud his character. He avoids negative noise which is difficult in this internet world. You won’t see me comment too often as I’m a reader and listener although I’m an author and have spent 50+ years in professional boxing in every category you can mention. I hope all of you follow Dan. He’s needed in the sport. Remember, you don’t have to like him…… but you shoukd respect his views from his pen (or today his keyboard). Keep punching. 🥊

What does being “expelled” from WBC activities mean? He’s already been suspended by NYSAC, and I believe he was dropped from the WBC rankings, wasn’t he? Is this just Mauricio wanting to put out a statement condemning Ryan’s comments, or will this have some kind of real world impact?

He will be banned from the rankings and not eligible to fight for any of their regional or world titles. It is somewhat symbolic but it was necessary.

How about boxing scribes stop covering this disturbed idiot until when/if he has a fight worth covering. Seems like everyone is encouraging this flame of lunacy by giving it oxygen. I pay for your newsletter for boxing news, not garbled hate speech by a guy that may be gaslighting us all or may be in mental decline… we don’t know and it doesn’t matter. None of this has to do with boxing.

Fuck Ryan Garcia and his ongoing antics and move on to fight news. I get why this kinda qualifies as boxing news, since the WBC (always upstanding in its judgement, by the way ; ) took a position, but I’m calling for no more Ryan Garcia bullshit till he has a fight to talk about.

Sad this drivel passes as boxing news.

Garcia, like it or not, is one of the biggest stars in boxing so, yes, it is news, when he says very publicly the things he said and wrote.

My full respect to you Dan and I enjoy reading your posts immensely. I would not give the thug the time or day, imho. By the way I used to hang out at Kronk in Detroit many moons ago and watched some of the best sparring sessions, including Tommy Hearns, Hilmer Kenty, Milton Mcrory, Mickey Goodwin, among others. Always wanted to be a boxer, but an injury in Vietnam prevented it.

What a ridiculous comment. This is meaningful news and Dan has been on top of covering Garcia’s exploits from the start.

Ryan Garcia needs help badly I feel sorry for him but if you don’t help yourself and admit you have a problem you have no hope
