Plant hasn't really fought many good fighters outside of Canelo. Dirrell is not the fighter of his prime and Uzgategui who Plant beat for his belt is not really a top fighter. In short I believe Plant has been overestimated. He does have some boxing skills but not at the level to give Benavidez any real trouble. I like Benavidez by KO before the 10th round. Benavidez is a well rounded fighter with big pressure , offense , and defense . He also has a good beard can take a punch well. Way too much firepower for Plant.

But look what Plant did to the Subway sandwich guy.

I'm rooting for Benavidez. But that huge 22 foot ring and David's typical plodding style has me picking Plant by UD. Chris Colbert would be wise to also take advantage of that same ring in his "Loser leaves Town" fight with Rayo Valenzuela.

The promoters win big time. Making this a PPV event is just proof of how Boxing has declined in this era. PPV why because we the promoters and the Platforms know that we can get away with telling people this is an important fight. It is not this is why boxing never grows into a sport that really attracts new fans and give the older fans something to tune into.

I've always been a believer in Plant. This is a hard fight to side with him on since it seems like there's a lot of distractions in his camp. He's hungry though, and his drive is what made me a believer in the first place. I'm rolling with Plant again.
