New Jersey roots here! Zhang is apparently boxing out of Bloomfield--closer to Newark--not Paterson. Unless the broadcast had the wrong town. It was odd to see. Zhang has thudding power. I’d like to see Ruiz-Zhang!
I don’t know. I can see Ruiz’s speed and inside game giving Zhang trouble, but I also see Ruiz having difficulty with Zhang’s southpaw style and straight left. Ruiz SD if he’s in shape. They are both tenacious with big hearts. I want to see it!
Zhang isn’t getting Fury, Usyk, or Joshua this year. He might get Whyte though, and that’s another good fight but Zhang beats Whyte. Zhang might get Franklin.
I agree with you. Ruiz is has fast hands, faster than Zhang, and has better footwork not to mention better defensive skills than Zhang. Ruiz by late KO.
Great win for Zhang who showed his excellent pedigree. You don't medals in the Olympics and 2 World Championships if you don't possess good fundamentals and skill. Add to that Zhang was an awkward southpaw who had a big punch. I found it quite funny that at the last moment they struggled to find a pair of gloves large enough to fit his fists.
I remember my gushing how Joyce was going to be a problem for anyone in the heavyweights. Funny, how quickly that invincibility fades away after one bad performance. That’s boxing baby. I missed the whole damn fight and was looking for a replay last night, but made across the results before I had a chance to watch it.
It was always going to be a stand and bang fight. Fair play to Joyce he'll fight anyone - if only all the heavy weights had his attitude. I would still take Joyce to smoke AJ and Whyte, but whereas before I thought he had a 40% chance of beating Wilder, I'd now say its more like 20%.

I saw that. His fists are huge.
